About me
I know how daunting it can feel to start therapy, and I want you to feel at ease. I bring warmth, curiosity, and creativity into the room, alongside my training in Gestalt Therapy, and approaches. Having been on my own personal development journey for many years, I understand how challenging—and rewarding—change can be. I’m passionate about helping people heal from trauma and reconnect with their creativity. Alongside my therapy work, I’ve also trained in acting, which deepens my appreciation of the creative process and the courage it takes to explore new parts of yourself.
My approach to individual therapy
I see therapy as a collaboration. While I bring experience and training, I believe you are the expert on your own life. My role is to support you in understanding your emotions, needs, and patterns, and to help you find new ways of living with more authenticity and ease. Sometimes this means raising awareness, other times it’s about trying out new ways of thinking or relating. Our relationship itself can be part of the work: a safe space to notice how you show up and to practice new ways of connecting—whether that’s being more assertive, direct, or simply more yourself.
Our first individual session
The first session is a chance for you to get a sense of me by asking me anything you want about my therapeutic approach. It is also a chance for me to get a fuller understanding of you in your wider context. I undertake an assessment which means asking you lots of questions about your issue, your present and your past. From this I start to formulate an idea of the different factors that are contributing to the challenge you are experiencing. I also come up with ideas of how we might work on your issue in therapy. I share my thoughts with you to see what you think and whether you are interested in exploring further with me. It's important that we do feel we can work well together so I invite you to ask any questions or voice any concerns so that we can have a transparent and good working relationship.
